Welcome to the Canadian Liver Foundation Students’ Association!
Our mandate is to help Albertans understand messages about liver health, provide educational programming, and support University of Alberta researchers looking for better treatments, vaccines, and cures for liver diseases.
The Canadian Liver Foundation Students’ Association is an officially chartered Chapter of the Canadian Liver Foundation at the University of Alberta. We are a non-profit charity group run by volunteers at the university.
CLFSA formerly known as LISA, and was first created as an official U of A group in the 2005-06 year as “Hip Hepa U of A” as well as an official U of A Canadian Liver Foundation Chapter. The original group consisted of university students working with Hip Hepa Youth, an initiative led by the Northern Alberta Chapter of Canadian Liver Foundation. The name was changed by a constitutional vote in the 2006-07 year to “Liver Info Students’ Association” (LISA) & 2012-2013 year to “Canadian Liver Foundation Students’ Association” (CLFSA).
